I don’t know if this is brilliant stuff or not. I’m just a high school art teacher and a wanna be artist so I’m not afraid that my opinion will hurt Mr. Kessel’s feelings…There is no doubt about the craftsmanship and prolifics of this artist yet I feel his work is very formulaic. I love appropriations myself - they take away the angst of trying to come up with an original idea and free you to dress the masterworks of mankind in your “style”…seems like a gimmick to me.
