SILVER SCREEN SIRENS a new art series by BOB KESSEL is a set of limited edition original fine art silkscreen prints printed by Axelle Editions in New York City.
The prints are all 34” x 34” inches square on 100% cotton Coventry Rag archival quality paper.
The inks are metallic silver, light silver, dark silver, yellow, and glossy black enamel.
Each print uses a different combination of colors to create unique looks yet all appear part of the same series.
At first the art may seem to be pure nonrepresentational abstraction but upon closer inspection
you will see that they are pictures of Hollywood film stars.
Marilyn Monroe in “The Seven Year Itch” is immortalized in one of the prints as is Jane Russell in “The Outlaw”.
Also used as inspiration are pin-ups, cheesecake pictures, swimsuit models, magazine cover actresses, and tight sweater girls.
Photos that inspired the art are placed next to each print to aid the viewer.
